Kapelebyong district: Kapelebyong Catholic Parish is buzzing with joy after Hon. Anthony Alden Esenu, the dynamic Member of Parliament  for Kapelebyong, gifted Bibles to all its dedicated catechists.

This gesture is aimed at empowering the catechists to spread the word of God more effectively within the community.

The donation took place during a special ceremony at the church, where Hon. Esenu, alongside Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Mathew Tinkamanyire, handed over the Bibles to the catechists.

In his address, Hon. Esenu explained that the donation was part of a broader initiative to support religious leaders across the district.

He confirmed that all catechists and pastors in the district, except those in Obalanga, would receive Bibles soon.

Hon. Esenu emphasized that the primary goal of his donation was to help spread the word of God, in line with his pledge to serve his community not only through political leadership but also through spiritual support.

He also mentioned that Obalanga, which had not yet received its share of Bibles, would benefit from the donation in the near future.

In his remarks, Hon. Esenu also addressed the political climate, following his defeat in the recently concluded parliamentary elections.

Despite losing the seat to Francis Akorikin, he called for unity and peaceful coexistence.

He urged his supporters, as well as those of his opponents, to remain calm and reject any form of violence as the country prepares for the upcoming elections.

Rev. Fr. Mathew Tinkamanyire, the Parish Priest of Kapelebyong Catholic Parish, expressed his sincere appreciation to Hon. Esenu for the timely donation. He highlighted the fact that many catechists had been using old and worn-out Bibles, some of which were missing pages.

With this donation, he said, the catechists would now have the necessary resources to carry out their mission more effectively.

“Many of our catechists have been struggling with old Bibles, and this donation will be a great relief,” Fr. Tinkamanyire said. “We are grateful for the support, which will help us continue with our mission of spreading the gospel.”

The Parish Priest also took the opportunity to encourage the public to vote for leaders who are committed to service rather than those driven by selfish interests.

He urged voters to look beyond political rhetoric and choose leaders who are ready to serve the community and address its needs.

Catechists who spoke to our reporter expressed their gratitude for the timely donation. Many shared how the old Bibles had been a challenge in their daily work, but they are now looking forward to using the new Bibles for their intended purpose.

They pledged to use the Bibles to continue spreading the gospel and nurturing the faith of the faithful in Kapelebyong.

“We are truly thankful for this support,” one catechist said. “The new Bibles will help us in our ministry, and we promise to use them wisely to spread the word of God.”

Hon. Anthony Esenu’s donation of Bibles to the catechists of Kapelebyong Catholic Parish reflects his deep commitment to the spiritual growth of his community. This timely act of kindness has been met with widespread appreciation from both the religious leaders and the catechists, who are now better equipped to carry out their important work.

It also serves as a reminder of the importance of leadership that is not only concerned with political power but also with the well-being of the people.
